Here at Stereo East, customers often turn to us for help in transforming their media room so it functions and feels like true home theater. Of course, a projector, screen, and a surround sound system are integral, but room aesthetics play a big role, too. At our Frisco showroom, you can see how finishing touches, like theater recliners, acoustic panels, and theater-themed carpeting all contribute to the overall room. And now, we offer a fiber optic star ceiling to complete the look.
Transform your ceiling into a star field with subtle, twinkling lights in variable speed and intensity. This configurable star ceiling is comprised of square panels measuring 2 feet by 2 feet each, allowing for easy customization to fit your room. Featuring white light and 5 color LED options and a variety of programmable settings easily accessible using the included remote control, this star light ceiling will set the mood perfectly for your next movie night in your home theater. Visit our showroom today to check it out!

We’re back from another exciting trip to Las Vegas for the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES). With everything from robots to car technology on display, there’s a lot to see, but we spent our time visiting booths focused on audio/video. We were not disappointed!
Sony’s Impressive OLED TVs and 4K Blu-ray Player
Sony officially entered the OLED market with the introduction of their XBR-A1E Bravia OLED TV, the winner of DigitalTrends’ Best of CES 2017 (Home Video) award. This stunning 4K Ultra HD TV features incredible dynamic range, resulting in deep, rich blacks and vivid whites. Sony’s exclusive image processing, along with HDR for increased clarity, contributes to the spectacular picture quality. The OLED TV boasts an incredibly thin design and frame, and the “stand-less” feature definitely turns heads. The XBR-A1E’s innovative audio technology is as impressive as the picture quality and design. With the new OLED TV, Sony debuted Acoustic Surface sound technology. Creating a wider soundstage, the technology makes it seem as though the sound is coming from the screen itself. The XBR-A1E will be available in 75”, 65” and 55” screen sizes. Stay tuned for expected arrival dates.
Sony also announced their 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player, the UBP-X800. With support for Ultra HD Blu-ray discs and 4K HDR video streaming, the UBP-X800 provides a solution for those looking for a greater variety of content for 4K TVs. Sony claims the player will support almost any format available via the included USB port. Again, stay tuned for arrival dates.
GoldenEar Tops Triton One with Triton Reference
Three years after the launch of their wildly popular Triton One Tower, GoldenEar Technology unveiled their new flagship speaker, the Triton Reference. The Triton Reference features specially-designed components and drivers, all housed within a one-piece, piano, gloss-black lacquer finish. With one HFVR (High-Velocity Folded Ribbon) tweeter, two mid/bass drivers, three active sub-bass drivers, and four passive radiators, the Triton Reference has a total of 10 drivers. The subwoofer amplifier and control unit are upgrades from those used in the Triton One and SuperSubs. The new speakers were a definite hit at CES. The Triton Reference earned the coveted CES Innovations Design and Engineering Award and DigitalTrends’ Best Home Audio Tech of CES. True to GoldenEar’s goal of making “high-end affordable”, the new speakers retail at $4,250/each. The speakers are expected to be available during Spring of 2017, but we’ll keep you posted on estimated arrival dates.
