And now, we offer a fiber optic star ceiling to complete the look.

Transform your ceiling into a star field with subtle, twinkling lights in variable speed and intensity. This configurable star ceiling is comprised of square panels measuring 2 feet by 2 feet each, allowing for easy customization to fit your room. Featuring white light and 5 color LED options and a variety of programmable settings easily accessible using the included remote control, this star light ceiling will set the mood perfectly for your next movie night in your home theater.  Visit our showroom today to check it out!

Stereo East Recaps CES 2015

Every January, Stereo East travels to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas to preview the latest developments in technology. This year did not disappoint, and we’re excited about new audio/video products debuting in 2015!

Sony’s XBR-X900C 4K Ultra HD TV

Sony 4K Continues to Dominate

As expected, 4K Ultra HD was a focal point for TV manufacturers from LG to Samsung to Sony. Ultimately, Sony stole the show with the thinnest LCD TV to date. Measuring just 0.2-inch thick in the top corner, the new Sony XBR-X900C is thinner than an iPhone 6. The screen appears to be almost all picture, thanks to an extremely thin bezel and cabinet. Of course, the 4K resolution, Sony’s latest processing, and their exclusive TRILUMINOUS color all contribute to the spectacular picture quality. The X900C series will be available in 55”, 65”, and 75” screen sizes.

Sony also announced the VPL-HW350ES native 4K Ultra HD home cinema projector. Priced at just $9,999, the projector is the most affordable Sony 4K projector for home theaters. By leveraging their 10 years of experience with 4K, Sony is able to offer high-performance, native Ultra HD projectors at unbelievable price points.

GoldenEar’s Triton Five Demo at CES

GoldenEar Wows Audiophiles Again

In terms of new audio products, we were most impressed with GoldenEar Technology’s new addition to their award-winning Triton loudspeaker series, the Triton Five. This unpowered speaker is equipped with a quartet of side-mounted eight-inch sub-bass radiators and a pair of six-inch high-definition cast-basket drivers above and below the tweeter. The new speaker also utilizes the crossover network originally developed for the flagship model, the Triton One. The Triton Five produces dynamic, engaging sound, all while maintaining detail, even at high levels of loudness. The Triton Five is already receiving rave reviews from industry critics and publications.

A New Video Platform from IC Realtime

Video recording, whether for surveillance, creative pursuits, or just for fun, is garnering more and more interest from the industry and end-users alike. Florida-based company IC Realtime unveiled a new video platform, the Allie, allowing users to record 720-degree video with real-time playback on mobile devices. A dual-lens configuration records both horizontally and vertically, and after the recordings are stitched into a single feed, users view the results via the Allie app. The Allie will be available in three options, the Allie Pro for businesses, the Allie Home for consumers, and the Allie Play for children.

New Products Expected to Release Later This Year

Spotlight on Home Theater Projectors from Sony

Here at Stereo East, our system designers and clients are thrilled with Sony’s line of home theater projectors. Why is that? With multiple models that deliver a lifelike cinema viewing experience in very attractive price-points, Sony continues to dominate in the front projector category.

Affordable High-Definition Front Projectors

Earlier this year, Sony wowed the A/V world with the launch of its most affordable home theater projector, the VPL-HW40ES. Jam-packed with the latest technology and retailing for only $2499, the 40ES quickly became a fan favorite. This 1080p projector incorporates Reality Creation for Full HD, a feature originally developed for Sony’s higher-end 4K projectors. By restoring missing information lost during broadcast transmission and content compressing, the projector is capable of reproducing details of the original 1080p signal. The projector also produces smooth and sharp motion as a result of Motionflow technology, an algorithm exclusive to Sony.

Consumers looking for enhanced contrast upgrade to the VPL-HW55ES model. The 55ES, retailing at $3999, includes automatic Iris control which maintains peak brightness while maximizing black and white levels. Unlike the 40ES, the 55ES model also comes with two pairs of 3D glasses and an extra lamp.

Sony’s 4K Ultra HD Projectors Set the Standard

In a previous blog post, we focused on an emerging technology, 4K Ultra HD. Ultra HD projectors from Sony deliver a truly breathtaking home cinema experience. The current entry-level 4K projector, the VPL-HW600ES, stuns with 4096 x 2160 resolution, an incredibly high dynamic contrast ratio of 200,000:1, and high brightness. New Motionflow modes, advanced SXRD panels, and TRILUMINOS Display technology create an ultra-smooth and realistic picture. Motorized lens memory allows users to match a movie’s aspect ratio, making it easy to view in a wide-screen format. In addition to native 4K content available from Sony, the 600ES upscales Full HD content to 4K using Reality Creation.

Sony’s VPL-HW1100ES 4K Ultra HD Projector

Viewers in search of the ultimate 4K home cinema experience turn to the top-of-the-line VPL-HW1100ES projector. Brighter than the 600ES and with improved scaling and processing, the 1100ES delivers a native 4K picture. Special attention has been devoted to the 4K All-Range Crisp Focus lens. Specifically created for this projector, the 18-element glass lens delivers high-precision and detail in all corners of the image. An automatic lens protector helps keep the optics dust-free while the device is not in use.
